About VT Drivers Ed
VT Drivers Ed is a driver education program based in Essex, Vermont, providing structured, professional instruction for teen drivers. I created VT Drivers Ed to offer high-quality driver education that helps students develop the skills, confidence, and awareness needed to become safe and responsible drivers.
I am a certified driver education instructor and a full-time high school teacher with many years of experience working with teens. My background in education has given me a strong understanding of how students learn best, and I bring that experience into every aspect of driver education. Instruction is based on the Vermont DMV-approved AAA How to Drive curriculum, which provides a structured, comprehensive foundation in safe driving practices, decision making, and hazard awareness.

Learning to drive is a significant milestone, and my role as an instructor is to help students build both competence and confidence behind the wheel. I focus on helping students understand not just how to operate a vehicle, but how to think, anticipate, and make safe decisions in real-world driving situations. Using the AAA How to Drive curriculum as a foundation, I guide students through a structured progression of skills that emphasizes situational awareness, hazard recognition, and defensive driving strategies. I believe that students learn best in an environment that is patient, structured, and supportive, and I work to ensure that each student receives clear guidance and constructive feedback throughout the learning process.
