    • 6 hours of in-car observation

These components meet Vermont driver education requirements.

  • All classroom sessions are conducted live online and must meet Vermont DMV participation requirements.

    • Attend sessions using a computer or laptop (phones are not appropriate for participation)

    • Have a working camera enabled

    • Remain visible on camera for the duration of the class

    • Actively participate when requested by the instructor

Students should enroll only if they are able to attend all scheduled sessions.

  • Families should notify VT Drivers Ed as soon as possible if a student must miss a class due to illness or an emergency.

To support students who experience unavoidable conflicts, up to two make-up classroom sessions will be offered at the end of the course.

Students who miss more than two classroom sessions may be required to complete additional make-up instruction. Additional make-up sessions are subject to instructor availability and may incur a $100 per-session make-up fee.

Repeated absences may delay course completion.

  • VT Drivers Ed reserves the right to remove a student whose behavior, attendance, or participation creates safety concerns or prevents successful completion of course requirements.

  • Yes. A mandatory parent/student orientation meeting is held at the beginning of the course.

Parent & Student Orientation

  • Driving sessions typically begin after classroom instruction has started and enrollment requirements have been completed.

  • Students and parents receive online access to scheduling once:

    • The course has started, and

    • Required paperwork has been submitted, and

    • Payment requirements have been met.

  • Driving lessons generally take place between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, depending on instructor and student availability.

  • Driving lessons require reserved instructor time and vehicle availability.

At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a driving session.

Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $100 rescheduling fee.

  • Failure to attend a scheduled driving session without prior notice is considered a no-show.

A $100 rescheduling fee must be paid before another driving session can be scheduled.

  • Behind-the-wheel sessions reserve dedicated instructor time and limited scheduling availability. Late cancellations prevent other students from using that time and significantly impact overall course scheduling.

    • Behind-the-wheel sessions
